What is Life Coaching and how will we work together?
There’s a lot of confusion on what exactly a Life Coach does, especially in an unregulated field where anyone can call themselves a coach with little to no training.
I am a fully trained, certified and credentialed Life Coach based out of Portland Oregon.
I am continuously learning, researching and bringing new tools into my practice,
but the essence of Life Coaching is:
My training and my clients have made me a great coach.
The work has been transformative for me personally in my day to day life.
If you are a creative seeking personal growth, clarity of vision and measurable results,
I'd love to work with you!
As always, first session is on me. Let's see if we're a good fit! I work virtually both locally and internationally.
COACHING WORKS.
When we better understand our brain (our most valuable tool), we can be in control of it,
instead of it being in control of us.
I use writing, thought exercises, accountability, listening, and open, honest communication around any issue that you bring to the table.

I am continuously learning, researching and bringing new tools into my practice,
but the essence of Life Coaching is:
- recruiting your own agency through powerful questions and tools.
- meeting you where you're at, on your agenda (not mine)
- working with you to get you where you want to be.
- present and future focused vs past focused.
- accountability every week with patience, non-judgement and compassion.
- the practice of meta-cognition (thinking about thinking) in order to get in charge of your brain.
- a gift to yourself.

Any skill we want to master takes practice, patience and guidance. We all want the shortcut to "a better life" but personal evolution and growth is a journey not a sprint.
I like to think of coaching as a personal mind map which helps us navigate that wacky terrain up there. In doing so, we get to ditch old paths and make way for new paths, habits and ways of thinking that better serve us. This is how we evolve, become our own biggest advocate, and the best versions of ourselves. My goal is to help you get the results you want, to guide you with patience, meet you where you're at without judgement, and challenge you in all the best ways. We are designed to do hard things. |

FAQ's:
Why "Uncomfortable"?
Because we don't evolve or grow unless until we choose (or are forced) to do things that make us even a tiny bit uncomfortable, emotionally or physically.
CHOOSING to be uncomfortable ahead of time (instead of being at the mercy of our own discomfort in the moment) is where the magic REALLY happens.
What is your typical process for working with a new client?
First Session: (Gratis) Here to answer any questions you have about coaching. I talk about what coaching is (and isn't!) and my personal coaching style. I'd like to hear about you, your goals and the specific results you are looking for through life coaching. Let's see if we're a good fit!
Second Session: We set an agenda together on how we will work together, how often and map out a plan so we can get you some real results!
Following Sessions: We'll check in on the previous weeks goal(s) that are set by you then decide
what would be the most helpful thing to focus on for the 50 min. session.
We'll explore where you're at, how it's impacting you, and what kind of measurable result would be helpful for us to work toward together in session. At the end of the session, you decide what action plan feels right for the upcoming week.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
My inspiration to become a coach came from a core desire to help young entrepreneurs while running my own small business as a designer and maker. I wanted to be the person that I wish I had available to me when starting my own small business. I've mentored several employees who have gone on to start their own successful business which has been an exciting process to witness and be a part of.
When I was looking to switch gears both personally and professionally, I hired a life coach which was truly transformative experience on all fronts.
It has guided me into being my most creative and authentic self, improved my relationships, and helped me find resilience and new systems to deal with anxiety, ADHD, perfectionism and time-management struggles.
All in all, coaching has positively changed the lens through which I look at the world, my relationship to others, my work, my creative practice and myself.
How do you engage in the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ community?
First and foremost, I want to acknowledge the privileges that come with my race and background as a white woman. I am committed to actively advocating for diversity, fairness, and inclusivity within our underserved community.
I have been active in both the BIPOC and LGBTQ communities.
I've worked and volunteered with homeless adults and youths, whether in homeless shelters, runaway shelters or street outreach. I have volunteered long term 1:1 with elderly in need of home assistance in my neighborhood.
I've organized art auction fundraisers for organizations like the The Bail Project, The Black United Fund
of Oregon, Self Enhancement Inc and the ACLU.
I have donated to many organizations helping the underserved community throughout my working career like
New Avenues For Youth - dedicated to the prevention of youth homelessness.
I personally prefer to not identify with specific labels to avoid categorizing myself within predefined social constructs. I favor a more fluid, human-centric approach to identity. That said, I fully support and respect other's preferences when it comes to pronouns, and identity.
I embrace counterculture and value authenticity, self-expression, and individuality more than conventional ideas of conformity.
What types of clients have you worked with?
So many incredible humans! Artists, musicians, designers, makers, upholsterers, writers, teachers, filmmakers, illustrators, story tellers, programmers, performers, sign painters, muralists.... you name it.
Coaching honors my love of community, dedication to diversity, and the belief that we can all benefit from guidance and support. I am passionate about helping creative individuals reach their goals and aspirations through coaching. Investing in your personal growth can ultimately be the best gift you can give to yourself and to others.
I know it has been for me ♡
What advice would you give a someone looking to hire a life coach?
