ART CAN is an eco-focused space retreat housed in an artfully remodeled 27ft. 1973 Airstream Overlander. Located in the heart of NE Portland Oregon, you'll be staying in a lovely private yard with lots of plants, giant trees and a 8' barrel sauna for relaxing. Steps away you'll find the outdoor shower, privy, firepit and covered outdoor lounge area. We designed this space for working artists looking for a retreat and/or work space for small projects, research and rest on a weekly basis, but have also opened it up to travelers looking for a place to land in Portland! For week-long artist residencies, we offer this space to creatives at a discounted rate of $68.57/night ($480 TOTAL) $160 deposit of the $480 is required to secure the space (see application below) Check in at 3pm, Check out at 11am. The space is suitable for most small scale projects including but not limited to: writing, drawing, composing, illustration, design, editing, brainstorming... *Due to the eco-sink which drains into a raised bio-swale garden, painting is not suitable for the ART CAN unless using watercolor or ink. * * * Located in the heart of NE Portland Oregon, ART CAN is walking distance to the Alberta Arts district, Vancouver/Williams Corridor and Mississippi Ave. The interior space is open yet cozy with an extra long queen bed suitable for 1-2 person, full couch/daybed, desk area, kitchen table, ventless blue flame propane heater and music listening options (bluetooth speakers and record player with records!) Kitchenette includes 2 burner stove, eco-sink, mini-fridge, cook/dish ware, coffee and tea supplies, water filter. A separate shower, bathroom sink and composting toilet are steps away, right next to our 8' barrel sauna. * * * The outside area is a secluded, minimally shared space. The ART CAN has it's own deck with couch, table and chairs and grill. Lots of plants, trees and bird watching. You are welcome to use the solo stove fire pit if a burn ban isn't in effect. House residents use the upper porch/deck attached to the house. - - - Diversity is our priority!
